Nestled at the base of the North Georgia mountain foothills, Vickery Lake is in the very desirable south Forsyth County area.  The Forsyth County School District is the sixth largest in Georgia and, for the 2021-22 school year served over 53,000 students.  Among Georgia's large and metro-Atlanta's county school districts, the Forsyth County School District had the highest graduation rate (96.1%), highest SAT and ACT scores, highest Financial Efficiency Rating (5 out of 5 stars), and lowest operational millage rate (17.3) and second lowest per pupil cost among metro-Atlanta and large districts.

The Vickery Lake community, started in 2005, consists of 140 ranch-style homes (some with basements and some with an upstairs floor) ranging in size from 2300 to over 6000 sq ft of living space with 3 and 4 bedrooms. Several acres of beautiful amenities available only to residents include a pool, clubhouse, lake and walking trail. The monthly homeowner fee covers maintenance of the clubhouse and pool, as well as common ground maintenance and yard maintenance for all homes (grass cutting, fertilizer/pesticide applications, edging, and pine straw application in the beds). In addition, our community has very active social groups including a ladies book club, card groups, dining activities, and regular periodic social gatherings at the clubhouse and neighbors' homes, such as a monthly ladies luncheon and a men's association.

Shopping is close by.  The restaurants and boutique shops of Vickery Village are less than five minutes away.  Grocery stores, gas stations, and drugstores along with other restaurants and shops are also within 10 to 15 minutes of Vickery Lake.  The Collection mall with restaurants, a Barnes and Noble bookstore, and lots of trendy shops is less than 7 miles away.  Northpoint Mall, a major shopping mall in Alpharetta with Macy's, J C Penny, Sears and the standard mall type stores, Old Town Roswell with lots of quaint shops and restaurants, and Alpharetta with a multitude of shopping opportunities are all within 20 to 40 minutes from Vickery Lake.

Recreation abounds in the area with the North Georgia mountains at our doorstep, Lake Lanier and the Chattahoochee River close by, and multiple county, state and national parks close by including the Sawnee Mountain Preserve and the Big Creek Greenway (walking and biking trail) following the course of Big Creek. The YMCA has a branch in Vickery Village with lots of on-going activities. Golfing is very popular and there are active running groups in the area including the Atlanta Track Club (second largest track club in the US) and several groups sponsored by various local athletic stores.
